After a sunny and quiet day Wedesday, our next storm system will move in for Valentine's Day on Thursday bringing a chance of rain and snow to Wisconsin.

Southern & southeastern Wisconsin will warm up into the upper 30s to near 40° Thursday afternoon, causing a lot of snow to melt and slushy conditions on the roads. A few rain showers will be possible in the evening with a wet snowflake or two possibly mixing in after sunset. Farther north, light snow showers are more likely as temperatures stay in the 20s and low 30s. Watch for a few slick spots if you're planning on being out and about Thursday night.

Once the system moves east, temperatures crash overnight. Any melted snow will refreeze Thursday night into Friday morning. Slick roads could be a concern again for the Friday morning commute. Wind chill values Friday morning will be below 0° and won't warm up much throughout the day.

Sunshine returns Friday and sticks around Saturday before another storm system moves in as we wrap up the weekend, bringing another round of snow to the state.
