MADISON, Wis. — On Sunday, the Wisconsin Badgers football team held their final open practice of fall camp before the season officially begins on September 3.

The open practice lasted about an hour as the team spent their time working in full pads in an 11-on-11 skirmish.

Prior to the open practice, fans met in Badgerville, where there was many free events for kids and family members.

Brian Lucas, Director of Football Brand Communications, said there have been some exciting new renovations at the stadium that fans can look forward to.

Lucas added that after the last game of the 2021 season renovation started on the seating.

“Nine months later ,we have our completely brand new premium seating area in the South end zone, so fans with definitely notice that when they walk in,” said Lucas. “Also, the field turf, the actual turf the players are playing on, is brand new, bright green, nice red letters, also says Barry Alvarez field on the field this year.”

As for players, Lucas said many of the same faces you have seen in the past stuck around for another season, but there will be some new players on the Badgers team.

“Some names stay the same, people obviously know Braelon Allen had a really good year last year, Chimere Dike, a Milwaukee-area kid, Graham Hurts on the defensive side, Keyonte Denton,” said Lucas. “But lots of new names and new faces at the linebacker position, wide receiver position, so it should be exciting.”
