The Packers wrapped up their Organized Team Activities this week. They will get back together in late July for training camp.

Nobody was happier to see the Packers invest both of their first round draft picks in Georgia defensive players than cornerback Eric Stokes. He was the Packers’ first round draft choice out of Georgia last year.

“I absolutely love it,” said Stokes. “Both of them are my dogs. We went through that Georgia way. We got through it and I’m so happy that I got both of them are here with me. Hey, we could turn this up here.”

While Jaire Alexander was out last season with a shoulder injury, he took a personal interest in helping Stokes develop.

“He always say, you just still a rookie,” said Stokes. “You still got three games, so you still a rookie. He always loves playin around with me 24/7.”

“It’s like a big brother, little brother kind of relationship,” said Alexander. “It’s cool because it makes it fun. We be joking on each other. I make Eric get me snacks every once in awhile. I tell them all the time, Eric Stokes and Rasul, that they played as good as any All-Pro corners or any Pro-Bowl corners that I’ve seen. That was good to see. Being able to pick up where I left off. Sky’s the limit at this point because you know who’s back, the general’s back.”

Stokes admits he learned a lot from having to go up against the supremely talented Davante Adams in practice. Adams may be gone, but Stokes still feels he can refine his game by going up against Packers receivers in practice.

“We still have some real good, competitive wide receivers and they all do something different,” said Stokes. “You can’t have the same gameplan for all of them. It’s just something you gotta keep growing from and you gotta keep learning from it.”

With a healthy Jaire Alexander, Rasul Douglas back in the fold and a developing Stokes, the Packers feel very good about the group of cornerbacks.
