GREEN BAY, Wis. — The NFL Draft is this week, starting with the first round on Thursday night.

The Green Bay Packers have four picks in the Top 60. As of now, the Packers hold the twenty-second and twenty-eighth picks in the first round. Trading up or down is always possible.

“You gotta be careful with falling in love with players, because you can start chasing things and getting out of whack value wise,” Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said on Monday. “So you would love for it to come to you, but at the same time, you have to be realistic about where you are picking and where the strength of the draft is and if it makes sense to move to a particular area to help your football team. You have to be willing to do that.”

Gutekunst is aware that many Packers fans hope he drafts a receiver to help fill the void created by Davante Adams being traded to the Raiders. He also knows that receivers often struggle with their transition to the NFL.

“I think we have a pretty good quarterback, and that helps,” said Gutekunst. “I certainly think there will be more opportunities for that young player if we happen to go that route, to come in and have some opportunities.”

Rounds two and three of the draft are set for Friday night. The draft concludes with rounds four through seven on Saturday.
