I know this is unprofessional and immature.

As I watched the NFL’s conference championships on Sunday, one thought kept going through my head: the Packers should be here. They’re just as good as these teams.

They beat both teams that made the Super Bowl. In the regular season, the Packers beat the Rams, 36-28 on November 28th at Lambeau Field. They won at Cincinnati, 25-22 in overtime on October 10th.

The Rams will get to play the Super Bowl in their home stadium. Matthew Stafford reaches the Super Bowl for the first time after toiling in the shadows for 12 years in Detroit. The Rams won their only Super Bowl when they were based in St. Louis after the 1999 season.

The Bengals are in the Super Bowl for the first time in over 30 years. They’ve never won it. Quarterback Joe Burrow has lifted them from two victories to the Super Bowl in just two years. Their comeback win in Kansas City was well-earned.

The Rams knocked out the team that upset the Packers. Few will shed tears around here watching the 49ers lose. LA mortgaged their future in an attempt to win it all this year. Now, they’re one win away from making the big trade for Stafford and the in-season acquisitions of Von Miller and Odell Beckham, Jr. pay off.

The Packers had their chance. They have no one to blame but themselves. Still…
