I am by nature skeptical. I've seen many Packers seasons where Super Bowl hopes are entertained - and then ultimately dashed.

By no means do I think this year's Packers team is perfect. Yet, after shutting out the Seahawks 17-0 Sunday at Lambeau Field, the Packers are 8-2.

I saw a Cardinals team (granted without Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins) get trounced at home by Carolina. I saw a listless Bucs team lose at Washington. Dallas? Yes, they bounced back after a ghastly home loss to Denver.

That leaves the Rams. That game later in November at Lambeau Field will loom very large in determining where the NFC Championship Game will be played. We saw last year that being at home is no guarantee, but I'll take a January game at Lambeau against a warm-weather team anytime.

I'm not saying you should book your Super Bowl tickets to L.A. All I'm saying is that the Packers, with a better-than-expected defense, have a chance to win it all. Why not?
