SHEBOYGAN, Wis. — Wisconsin native and U.S. Ryder Cup captain, Steve Stricker, rounded out his 12-man team with his six captain's picks Wednesday at Whistling Straits.

Stricker filled out his roster for the 43rd Ryder Cup with Daniel Berger, Harris English, Tony Finau, Xander Schauffele, Scottie Scheffler and Jordan Spieth. 

The six automatic qualifiers were Collin Morikawa, Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, Justin Thomas, Brooks Koepka and Patrick Cantlay.

This is Jordan Spieth's fourth consecutive Ryder Cup, the longest streak on the U.S. team. Spieth finished 2nd at the 2015 PGA Championship at Whistling Straits.

Scottie Scheffler has never won on the PGA Tour. He's the first American to be picked for his first Ryder Cup without having won since Rickie Fowler in 2010. Scheffler finished 14th in the Ryder Cup standings. 

The six rookies are the most for the U.S. team since the 2008 team that won at Valhalla. 

The U.S. team typically has eight automatic qualifiers and four captain’s picks. That was increased to six for this Ryder Cup because of uncertainty of how the COVID-19 pandemic — which postponed the matches for one year — would affect the tour schedule.
