GREEN BAY, Wis. — Sunday's 35-20 Packers win in Houston may not totally erase the loss to the Buccaneers in the minds of some, but it sure beats the alternative of a second straight loss.

The Packers are now 5-1 and have still not lost back-to-back games under Matt LaFleur. What stands out to me is the Packers were able to do just fine without key starters Aaron Jones, David Bakhtiari, Kevin King and Darnell Savage. It shows pretty good depth to win a game in convincing fashion on the road without all of them.

I'm not here to say the Texans are a good team. They're not. They're now 1-6 and looked like what they are: A dispirited squad playing for an interim coach.

Still, it's not the Packers' fault that the Texans are in disarray. They can only play who's on the schedule and in whatever shape they're in.

Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams dominated the Texans defense like a backyard pitch and catch game.

Whatever you want to say about the Texans, they have some talent on offense. The Packers' defense did not let DeShaun Watson freelance and find his group of solid receivers.

It's hard to find much fault in the victory, other than the opposition wasn't great.

That's not the Packers' concern. They did what they had to do and keep on moving.

There will be tougher games ahead. That's understood. It's still a good thing to not have to pick apart what have been a tough loss to swallow.
