MILWAUKEE — Hundreds of fans are ready to celebrate the Brewers in the postseason with some gear from the team store.
If 2020 wasn’t a historic enough year for you, the Brewers clinching a postseason spot for the third year in a row just added to 2020’s long list of historic moments.
“It’s very exciting the brewers have clinched the postseason for the third time in three years it’s a club record the first time that has ever happened,” Brewers Senior VP of Brand Experience, Teddy Werner says.
The excitement for Wisconsin’s team means Brewers fans are heading to pick up some postseason gear at the Miller Park team store.
“I’m a fanatic about history, about baseball history so I had to come here and get this hat and add it to my collection,” Brewers Fan John Rodahl says.
John Rodahl says he’s been a Brewers fan since the very beginning.
“I was at opening day in 1970 if that counts, I was at Opening Day of Miller Park if that counts, I saw about 50 braves games growing up so I am quite a Milwaukee baseball fan,” Rodahl says.
As a season ticket holder, Rodahl says he was obviously disappointed he couldn’t see his Brewers in person this year but will take whatever he can get. Which right now, is a postseason Brewer’s hat.
For other fans at the shop, they say it’s a tradition to get postseason gear.
“I’ve been a Brewers fan since I can remember and I have to come and get the t-shirts,” Brewers Fan, Glenn Kupka says.
The Brewers are making it easy this year for fans to get what they need, by staying open for longer hours and even shipping postseason merchandise out to fans.
“We had a couple hundred people that showed up last night so we are going through it pretty quickly and it is a limited supply so if fans do want the merchandise that the players were wearing last night I would hustle down quickly because I think that it will go fast,” Werner says.
It’s a welcomed surprise to Brewers fans this year who weren’t sure a season would even happen.
And who knows, they say the third time is a charm right?
