Megan Marshall is a multimedia journalist with the Spectrum News 1 WI team and considers the shooting and editing she does each day on the job to be a true passion of hers. More so, Megan finds her daily inspiration through the thousands of people and places she gets to interact with on a daily basis. When it comes to great story-telling, Megan considers it as the ability to provide her community with information in a way that her views can connect with and become inspired from.
Megan is a decorated journalist to say the least. A part of multiple Emmy winning teams during her time in Illinois plus various Edward R Murrow awards under her belt, it’s safe to say Megan is quite the veteran. Throughout the various stories Megan has covered, one that sticks out to her is her story covering domestic violence in which she participated in a walk in order to convey each and every step victims of domestic violence must take in order to seek help. This story created such a powerful message of strength and perseverance, and is one that she keeps with her throughout her career.
When Megan’s not out in the field, you can find her spending time with her fiance and their dog, Maize. An athlete at heart, Megan spent the majority of her life as a competitive gymnast while also playing college softball at St. Cloud State University, where she once pitched a perfect game. In her down time, Megan escapes to the beautiful Door County, and for anyone who hasn’t been, she encourages them to do the same.
