GREEN BAY, Wis. — Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur wrapped up the season with a news conference on Tuesday. A lot of the focus was on the development of quarterback Jordan Love.

LaFleur said quarterbacks get too much praise or criticism, but he knows that Love’s performance will be highly scrutinized.

“I think he is an ascending player that is going to get better and better and better," said LaFleur. "He approaches the game the right way. I love working with the guy every day. Do I think he can play better? Absolutely. Do I think I can help him out and be better? Absolutely. Do I think we can play better around him? Absolutely. I just think it's too much to put it on one person, I really do. I think collectively we have to be better and I expect better. We performed at a pretty high level the majority of the season, and then took a dive. That's why it feels different than a year ago.”

LaFleur said he's impressed with how Love avoids sacks. Love’s season was uneven, in part because he was fighting through injuries. LaFleur looks for Love’s maturity to continue.

“Just keep nudging him to take on a little bit more vocal of a role,” said LaFleur. “I think that comes with the position and something we've talked about.”

Even with Christian Watson’s availability timeline unclear after an ACL injury, LaFleur believes in the Packers’ receivers group.

“I think our collection of receivers is pretty darn good,” said LaFleur. “I think we got six guys that we definitely feel like we can lean on.”

LaFleur said he hasn’t talked to the Packers’ medical staff yet, but admits to personal concern after receiver Romeo Doubs suffered a second concussion.
