GREEN BAY, Wis. — Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed said the team has put the Vikings loss behind them and isn’t looking past Sunday’s game with the Chicago Bears.
The Bears come into Lambeau Sunday with a 10-game losing streak.
“I think momentum is very important, just going out there Sunday and starting fast and finishing fast, that’s pivotal of going to the playoffs,” Reed said.
Looking back, he said the team has improved execution over the past 17 weeks of the season.
“I think we’ve got all the right guys in this locker room that has that mindset that want’s win,” Reed said. “We’ve always got that dog mentality in the locker room.”
The Packers are 11-5 after Sunday night’s loss to the Vikings. Matt LaFleur has never lost to the Bears and is 11-0 since becoming Packers' head coach in 2019.
“I think this is a good football team, I really do,” he said. “I think they’ve had a lot of adversity. Certainly, if you look at the last game we played against them, it was a finger away from them winning. They’ve lost four of five games by a possession and there had a lot of heartbreaks.”
The Packers are assured a playoff spot, but their seed and opponent will be determined on Sunday.
“There’s are very few opportunities that are guaranteed left in our season to continue to work and improve, so you can’t take it for granted,” LaFluer said. “Every op out there is chance to get a little bit better and to work on specific skill whatever it might be.”
Packers running back Josh Jacobs was one of three Packers named to the Pro Bowl Thursday.
“If you’re playing in the Super Bowl you can’t play in the Pro Bowl,” Jacobs said, “If it was up to me, I’d rather be playing in the Super Bowl, obviously. We’ll see how it all shakes out.”
Reed said the team isn’t looking past Sunday.
“One game at a time, man. That’s how this league goes,” he said. “ You can’t get too far ahead of ahead of yourself.”
