GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Green Bay Packers play in Seattle on Sunday night. Green Bay’s practice on Wednesday featured the return of a key offensive player.

The window to activate tight end Luke Musgrave has opened. He’s been on injured reserve since October with an ankle injury that required surgery.

Unfortunately, Musgrave is used to missing time with a major injury. He suffered a lacerated kidney last season.

He said being a spectator is difficult.

“That’s obviously the worst part of football,” Musgrave said. “Injuries are part of the game, but it’s tough. Good to be back out.”

Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur said Musgrave did well in rehab.

“This is exactly where we thought we’d be,” LaFleur said. “He’s done a nice job with the rehab. We’ll see where he is as we move forward. How quickly he can get back. Obviously, he’s going to get integrated back.”

While Musgrave has been out, Tucker Kraft has emerged as a real weapon for the Packers at tight end.

“It’s been awesome to watch,” Musgrave said. “Fun to watch this team. Really, really powerful team. So excited to see what we’re going to do and be a part of it.”

Even so, his teammates said they are happy to have him back.

“It was great to see him back here,” Packers quarterback Jordan Love said. “Had a tough injury, didn’t know when he was going to be back, this season or not. So, it’s definitely nice to get back him out there. Hopefully we can get him back, before the end of the season and for playoffs. It’s awesome to have a guy like that back out there.”

Now, Musgrave said he just wants to get back to game action, in whatever role the Packers might have for him.

“As soon as practical,” Musgrave said. “I don’t know if there’s a timeline, but as soon as possible that they’ll let me go, I’ll go. Whatever they see fit, you know, that’s the coach’s job. So whatever they see me doing, I’m willing to do.”

Meanwhile, cornerback Jaire Alexander is off the injury report. The Packers are hoping he can play Sunday night.

Receiver Romeo Doubs is still in concussion protocol, but practiced fully on Wednesday.
