Milwaukee Ballet's opening weekend of The Nutcracker: Drosselmeyer's Imaginarium

Michael Pink brings the classic tale of "The Nutcracker" to life on the Marcus Center stage. Enjoy performances from the Milwaukee Ballet Company dancers and Milwaukee Ballet School & Academy students alongside a live orchestra. 

Black Nativity

The musical “Black Nativity” by Langston Hughes has become a holiday season staple in Milwaukee. Black Arts MKE is bringing the production to life in a unique way at the Marcus Center. 

Madison

Hmong New Year Celebration
Saturday, Dec. 7 at 11 a.m. 
Madison College, 1750 Wright Street, Madison

Enjoy Hmong performances, music, food, kids' activities and more to celebrate the contributions of the Hmong community in Dane County. This year's theme is "Building Bridges: Our Community, Hmong Culture, Our Connection."

A Madison Symphony Christmas
Saturday, Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, Dec. 8 at 2:30 p.m. 
Overture Center for the Arts, 201 State Street, Madison

Enjoy a festive holiday concert featuring choral peformances, soloists, gospel choir and others accompanying the Madison Symphony Orchestra. Listen to classic Christmas carols, including "Santa Clause is Comin' to Town," "Joy to the World," "O Holy Night," "Jingle Bells" and more. 

Green Bay & Fox Cities

Drinks with the Grinch
Saturday, Dec. 7 at 6 p.m.
Resch Expo, 840 Armed Forces Drive, Ashwaubenon

The Grinch is headed to the Green Bay area and anyone 21+ can enjoy champagne samples and a Door County Coffee bar. Tickets include a free cocktail and appetizers to snack on. 

WPS Garden of Lights
Saturday, Dec. 7 from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Sunday, Dec. 8 from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Green Bay Botanical Garden, 2600 Larsen Road, Green Bay

This year, the Garden of Lights features more than 40 light displays, utilizing more than 350,000 lights. All of the displays in this walk-through light show are inspired by nature, spanning nearly a mile. 

Around the Badger State

CPKC Holiday Train
Various cities, dates, times and locations throughout the weekend. Check the schedule, here

The CPKC Holiday Train makes numerous stops in Wisconsin this weekend including Sturtevant and Caledonia on Saturday, Dec. 7, and Wauwatosa, Hartland, Oconomowoc, Watertown and Columbus on Sunday, Dec. 8. The train raises food, money and awareness for local food banks and food pantry organizations. Food banks will accept donations at each stop, and attendees can also enjoy live music and holiday lights. 

Santa Cycle Rampage
Saturday, Dec. 7 at 1 p.m.
Haymarket Plaza, 128 Graham Avenue, Eau Claire

Dawn a Santa Suit or other Christmas attire and join in on a 6 mile, family-friendly bike ride with the Eau Claire community. Awards for the best individual costume, best duo costume, best group costume and best bike bling will be given out, too.
