GREEN BAY, Wis. — Sunday’s 38-10 Green Bay Packers victory over the San Francisco 49ers at Lambeau Field was very satisfying. It doesn’t make up for the three playoff ousters in the Matt LaFleur era, but you do what you can.

I know the 49ers didn’t have Brock Purdy, Trent Williams and Nick Bosa — but that’s not the Packers’ fault. They beat the team that was on the field. Handily. As they should.

There were three facets of Sunday’s game that I think are significant. Josh Jacobs rushed for 106 yards and three short touchdowns. He’s a workhorse the Packers can ride down the stretch.

Jordan Love didn’t throw any interceptions. That’s important because he had thrown at least one in every game he played this season.

And the Packers defense forced three turnovers.

Brian Gutekunst made a terrific signing in safety Xavier McKinney. He helped make a fourth down stop and had an interception. He has been fantastic. The Packers’ defense is far from perfect. Yet McKinney makes the unit formidable.

Now, a quick turnaround. The surging Miami Dolphins will be at Lambeau Field Thursday night. It will be a challenge. At least the Packers will enter that Thanksgiving night game at 8-3. That’s something to be thankful for.
