GREEN BAY, Wis. — Green Bay Packers veteran pass-rusher Preston Smith is being traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to the Packers.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network first shared rumors of the trade in a post on X.

The Packers will get a 2025 seventh-round draft pick from the Steelers in return.

The Steelers are 6-2 in the AFC North while the Packers are 6-3.

Smith, 31, has been with the Packers since 2019, when he signed a four-year $52 million deal. He's played in 91 games with 88 starts in the regular season since joining the team. He posted a team-high 44.0 sacks over that period, too.

Smith signed a four-year extension with the team in March 2022.

He has started in nine games this season for the Packers.
