Supporters said they appreciated the gesture this close to the big day.

“We've been to several Trump rallies,” Jacqui Brokaw, a La Crosse resident, said. “It's kind of become kind of normal tradition. But, you know, when they take the time to come here, I think they appreciate us supporting them.”

Vance used the rally to remind voters why he believes his running mate, Republican presidential nomineee former President Donald Trump, is different from opponent Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris.

“Kamala Harris is more of the same high grocery prices,” Vance said. “Kamala Harris is more of the same unaffordable housing. Kamala Harris is more of the same chaos around the world.”

Judith Nordstrom, a La Crosse native and Trump supporter who now lives in Florida, said it was a reassuring message. Nordstrom said she’s ready for something different.

“My son is 31-years-old and I see him trying to make it in this world,” she said. “Is he going to be able to buy a house? Is he going to be able to do a lot of things that I was able to do?”

To those voters headed to the polls on Tuesday, Vance promised he and Trump would present a path that includes closing the border and strengthening the economy.

“Donald J. Trump and I want to build more homes,” Vance said. “Yes, Donald J. Trump and I are going to fight to lower mortgage interest rates so that our young people can afford to get out a loan on a house.”

Vance said Monday was the last time he’ll be in Wisconsin this election cycle, but promised supporters to return if Trump is elected.

It was a message that resonated with Kate Foellmi of Minnesota. She said she’s excited but anxious for the outcome of the election.

“I am praying that Trump wins,” Foellmi said. “If he doesn't, I don't know if our country will ever be the same again.”

The rally was one of four Vance had planned Monday.
