GREEN BAY, Wis. — Teams can change. The Green Bay Packers got hot last season at the right time. Still, after watching the Lions drill the Packers 24-14 in the rain Sunday at Lambeau Field, Detroit looks way ahead of the Packers right now.
To beat a good team, you have to play a clean game. The Packers certainly didn’t do that Sunday. Penalties, dropped passes, a costly interception, fumbled snaps. They got what they deserved.
Head coach Matt LaFleur essentially said that in his news conference. Jordan Love kept his usual cool talking about his devastating Pick 6 right before half.
Detroit is 7-1 for the first time since 1956. They’ve won six games in a row. The Packers go into their bye at 6-3. Their four-game winning streak comes to a screeching halt.
Now, we’ll see how both teams respond but, right now, the Lions are clearly the best team in the NFC North.
