TWO RIVERS, Wis. — Katrina Baur, the mother of Elijah Vue, has pleaded not guilty to charges surrounding the 3-year-old’s death, according to court records.
Vue, 3, was missing in February for more than six months.. He would have celebrated his fourth birthday during that time frame.
Both Baur and her boyfriend, Jesse Vang, face charges and are in custody.
Baur faces the following charges, issued by the Manitowoc County District Attorney's office:
- Chronic neglect of a child, consequence is death
- Neglecting a child, specified harm did not occur and child has a disability
- Two counts of obstructing an officer
In the hearing Wednesday, Baur also requested a change to her bond that would allow her to have contact with her daughter, per a Children in Need of Protection and/or Service (CHIPS) order.
The court ruled that Baur can have contact with her daughter only if it’s in compliance with the CHIPS order.
Baur’s next court date is scheduled for Dec. 20. Vang has not yet entered a plea and his next scheduled court date is Nov. 6.
