GREEN BAY, Wis. — Former New York Jets Head Coach Robert Saleh was at Green Bay Packers’ practice Wednesday in Green Bay.

Saleh and Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur are close friends. The two actually roomed together in college at Central Michigan.

LaFleur said that Saleh, who was fired by the Jets, will offer his insights about how the Packers offense can attack defenses.

“I think it’s good to have that perspective,” LaFleur said.

“I think it speaks to how much he loves football,” LaFleur added. “I think it’s tough when it gets taken away from you. We did this a couple of years ago [with Aubrey Pleasant]. It’s not like it’s never happened before. We found it beneficial.”

LaFleur called Saleh “an elite defensive mind.”

Saleh was the San Francisco 49ers' defensive coordinator before going to the Jets. Yet LaFleur went out of his way to say that Saleh will not meddle with Packers Defensive Coordinator Jeff Hafley.

“I think Haf and his defensive staff have a great thing going right now. I totally trust them,” he said.
