FORT ATKINSON, Wis. — FORT ATKINSON, Wis. — Spacesaver, a Fort Atkinson-based company specializing in high-density storage solutions, is expanding its team as it continues to innovate.

The company, which has been around for more than 50 years, is now looking to fill key positions in manufacturing, sales, and clerical functions.

What You Need To Know

  • Spacesaver is actively hiring for multiple positions in both the plant and sales departments
  • The company has been using robotic and AI technology to improve safety and efficiency for workers
  • Spacesaver’s employee-ownership model includes profit-sharing, generous benefits, and a 401(k) match
  • Longtime employees like Adam Boss highlight the growth opportunities and flexibility that make Spacesaver a standout employer

Adam Boss, a longtime employee, shared his journey with the company, which began fresh out of high school. “Spacesaver has been my home fresh out of high school, started as a paintline unloader then a group leader on powder three, working my way up through the ranks as production coordinator, material coordinator, into supervision for six years before I ended up in human resources as the production trainer,” Boss said.

Now, after 18 and a half years with Spacesaver, Boss plays a critical role in overseeing onboarding for new hires and supporting top talent. “It’s one of those companies that’s small enough to be a person within the company but to provide plenty of growth from the shop floor on up,” he said.

Spacesaver is known for delivering quality storage solutions to a range of national and international clients, from museums to public safety agencies. “They trust our name and  our brand because of the quality product we put out,” Boss added.

Megan Skinkis, Spacesaver’s Business Development Manager, enjoys the dynamic nature of her role because it allows her to interact with a variety of clients. “If these organizations have stuff, we can find a solution to store it. So that’s very fun, especially on the business development side, because one minute you can be talking to a police chief, the next minute an athletic director, and the next minute someone completely different,” she said.

As an employee-owned company, Spacesaver offers profit-sharing benefits that start after two years of employment.

“If you get started working with us in 2024, by June of 2026, you’d start receiving 2% of your regular earnings as part of the profit-sharing program,” Hannah Kunkel, the company’s talent acquisition specialist, said.

In addition to profit-sharing, employees enjoy a 401(k) match, remote work options, second-shift plant premiums, and flexible scheduling — a perk that Boss, a father of three, values. “It’s great to be able to help out with taking care of the kids and make their sports events and after-hours activities,” he said, noting how family-friendly the company’s policies are.

Spacesaver is also leveraging robotic and automated technology to increase efficiency and reduce the need for heavy lifting by employees, allowing them to focus on the craftsmanship of their work.
