GREEN BAY, Wis. — Wide receiver Romeo Doubs returned to practice for the Green Bay Packers Wednesday.

He was suspended by the team after he skipped practice two days last week, reportedly because he was upset with his role. The suspension meant he missed last Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.

While Doubs wasn’t in the locker room during media access, it’s impossible to ignore his suspension and its ripple effects within the Packers ecosystem.

“You never want to get to that point,” Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur said. “You gotta communicate. If there’s an issue, you gotta communicate it, so we can work it out together. There’s a standard that you have to live by. If you don’t, there’s gonna be consequences.”

Doubs’ teammates didn’t want to say too much, but said they’re glad to have him back.

“We just move forward,” quarterback Jordan Love said. “It happened. It’s in the past. Everyone’s excited to have him back.”

“I think we all respect how Romeo goes about his business,” Packers receiver Christian Watson said. “Everyone’s gonna have their own opinions on the situation. Two days isn’t gonna ruin three years of commitment he’s put in for us.”

Watson also returned to practice Wednesday, on a limited basis, after suffering an ankle injury.
