The two flavors — apple and cherry — are season flavors made from locally harvested apples and Door County cherries, and blended with Wisconsin dairy cream.
It not only marks the first Wisconsin-made bourbon cream liqueur but also Central Standard’s first liqueur product. The launch of the bourbon creams follows an earlier project this year with Leinenkugel’s, where the distillery launched a canned cocktail line.
“This has been a year of innovation for us, and we wanted our entrance into the liqueurs market to be bold, significant, and authentic to who we are. We’re honored to release our state’s first locally crafted bourbon creams, made with our own locally distilled bourbon,” said Jim Kanter, chief commercial officer of Central Standard Craft Distillery, in a press release.
Distillery leaders said they have been perfecting the creams in cocktail recipes and on retail shelves for at least a year, which included gathering feedback from the public. The launch of the product coincides with the 10-year anniversary of the distillery this year.
“We’re excited and ready for this to be our biggest seasonal launch yet,” said Evan Hughes, co-founder of Central Standard Craft Distillery, in release. “During our research and development phase, we could hardly keep it on the shelves. Whether enjoyed in a cocktail or over ice, these creams capture the flavors of Wisconsin’s rich agriculture traditions.”
The Apple Bourbon Cream and Cherry Bourbon Cream have a 23% ABV. They’ll be sold in 750mL bottles at retailers and independent liquor stores in Wisconsin. They can also be purchased at Central Standard Crafthouse & Kitchen. You can see where to buy them near you, here.
