WISCONSIN — Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris will campaign in Wisconsin on Thursday.
Harris will travel to Ripon, the birthplace of the Republican Party, on Oct. 3, according to a campaign official. She’ll be joined by Republican Congresswomen Liz Cheney.
Campaign officials said Harris plans to address the significance of the one-room schoolhouse site in an attempt to appeal to Republican and independent voters. According to the WisDems website, the event will run from 3 to 6 p.m. The event will also focus on “putting country over party,” according to a release.
This will be her fifth visit to Wisconsin since launching her campaign for president and her first trip to the area this year. Harris’ last visit to Wisconsin was Sept. 20 in Madison, when she held a campaign rally focusing on mobilizing voters.
Liz Cheney announced her endorsement of Harris in early September. Her father, former Republican Vice President Dick Cheney also announced he would support Harris.
No additional information on the event has been released.
