MILWAUKEE — All four suspects in the Hyatt murder case are now out on bond and are no longer in the Milwaukee County Jail, according to the Milwaukee County In Custody Locator and CCAP.

Suspects Brandon LaDaniel Turner, Devin Johnson-Carter, Herbert Williamson and Todd Alan Erickson have all posted bond.

Three had their bonds reduced to $5,000. Williamson had originally had a bond of $15,000; Turner had one that was $30,000; and Erickson had one that was $50,000.

Johnson-Carson had already been out of jail since Monday, Aug. 12, when he posted his $5,000 cash bond.

Each is charged with party to felony murder in the death of D’Vontaye Mitchell outside the Hyatt Hotel downtown Milwaukee on June 30. All four pleaded not guilty last Thursday during arraignment proceedings.

According to a criminal complaint, the four hotel employees dragged Mitchell out of the Hyatt Hotel after Mitchell entered a women’s bathroom and held him on his stomach for eight or nine minutes.

One employee told investigators that Mitchell was having trouble breathing and repeatedly pleaded for help, according to the complaint.

The four workers told investigators Mitchell was strong and tried to bite Erickson, but they didn’t mean to intentionally harm him.

Aimbridge Hospitality, the company that manages the hotel, fired the four workers in July.

Nationally known civil rights attorney Ben Crump is representing Mitchell’s family in the case.
