WISCONSIN — Labor Day weekend is approaching fast. With it comes local celebrations that pay tribute to the hard work and contributions of workers across the country.

For many, it’s also the last hurrah of summer before school kicks into full gear.

Here’s a list of Labor Day celebrations happening on Monday, Sept. 2 across Wisconsin.

Milwaukee

The Laborfest parade will kick off from Zeidler Union Square — between 4th and Michigan — at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 2. The route will slowly make its way to the Summerfest grounds, where there will be a day-long celebration. That celebration will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Kenosha

Kenosha will hold Laborfest for Labor Day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Pennoyer Park Bandshell, at 3601 7th Avenue.

Racine

Racine will host its Laborfest celebration from noon to 4:30 p.m. at the UAW Local 180 Union Hall on 3323 Kearney Ave.

Madison

Laborfest 2024 will take place from noon to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 2 at the Madison Labor Temple, 1602 S. Park Street.

La Crosse

The city will celebrate Labor Day starting with a parade at 10 a.m. It will begin at the intersection of Gillette Street and Kane Street, and end at Copeland Park. Throughout the day, the park, at 1130 Copeland Park Drive, will offer festivities and games.

Eau Claire

Starting 10:30 a.m., Eau Claire will hold a solidarity walk for its Laborfest. At 11 a.m. there will be speeches and at noon, there will be a picnic. It will take place at Phoenix Park, located at 330 Riverfront Terrace.

Green Bay

A Greater Green Bay Labor Day Picnic event will be held in the Bay Beach Shelter #1 and #2 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 2.

Fox Valley

Fox Valley Laborfest begins with a parade at 10 a.m. It will start at Curtis Reed Square in Menasha and proceed into downtown Neenah. There will also be a picnic at the Neenah Labor Temple that will go from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Wausau

A parade for Labor Day begins with a 3 p.m. lineup and a start of 4 p.m. The route starts near the corner of West Wausau Avenue and 3rd Avenue. It will proceed down 3rd and end at the Wausau Labor Temple.

Fond du Lac

The Labor Day parade begins at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 2 on the corner of Rees and Main streets. It will travel south on Main Street to Western Avenue.

Superior-Duluth

A celebration will be held at Bayfront Festival Park from noon to 4 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 2.
