WAUKESHA, Wis. — When the Republican National Convention (RNC) is broadcast around the world next week, dozens of Wisconsin companies will know they had a hand in making the event happen.

Wildeck, a Waukesha-based company, is one of them. The company makes heavy duty steal platforms, balconies, mezzanines, lifts, guards and industrial ladders/stairs.

Workers at Wildeck are proud to have built all of the platforms that members of the media will stand on inside Fiserv Forum during the RNC. It has taken a lot of work.

“There are really six main large platforms in the convention,” said Dan Lorenz, president of Wildeck. “One in each end of the bowl, one in the middle. Then there is a three-tiered camera platform that we also manufactured.”

Lorenz said, this time, it’s an honor to do the work for an event that will economically benefit Milwaukee and Wisconsin.

“Nationwide, there are going to be millions and millions of people who are going to watch this convention,” Lorenz said. “Knowing that the camera footage from this convention is being done on our platforms has been an honor, and really a treat to our employees. To be able to build a product 20 miles away from Fiserv Forum; our roots are in Milwaukee. We moved to Waukesha, which has also been a great home to us for 40 years.”
