MILWAUKEE — Four teens that were involved in a police pursuit and officer-involved shooting last week have been charged, according to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.

Calveyon A. Jeans, Ashley Z. Patterson, Tyrone C. Rogers and Semira A. Dean were issued criminal charges for involvement in two armed robberies and the fleeing that resulted in the shooting.

The police pursuit occurred on Thursday, June 20, around 2:23 p.m. It ended when the driver of the vehicle entered a construction lane on I-43 near W. Vienna Avenue. The driver was blocked by the construction and a cement truck.

At that point, Milwaukee Police Department officers approached the vehicle and told the suspects to stop the vehicle and get out. The driver then reversed the vehicle and struck a squad car. Again, the driver drove forward and reversed; an officer was behind the vehicle when this happened. That’s when another officer discharged his firearm into the vehicle, striking two of the suspects.

Six suspects were in the vehicle during the incident. Two of the teens sustained gunshot wounds and had serious injuries. The four other suspects sustained minor injuries.

Jeans was charged with attempted armed robbery as party to a crime and armed robbery as party to a crime; operating a motor vehicle to flee or in an attempt to elude an officer; drive or operate a vehicle without owner’s consent; first degree and second degree recklessly endangering safety; possession of a firearm by adjudicated delinquent; operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent as party to a crime; and theft of movable property as party to a crime.

Jeans could face up to 114 years in prison and fines of up to $290,000 if convicted.

Patterson and Rogers were charged with attempt armed robbery as party to a crime and armed robbery as party to a crime and operating a vehicle without owner’s consent as a known passenger.

They’ll face up to 60 years and nine months in prison and fines up to $160,000 if convicted.

Dean was charged with attempt armed robbery as party to a crime; armed robbery as party to a crime; operating vehicle without owner’s consent as a known passenger; operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent as party to a crime; and theft of movable property as party to a crime.

Dean faces up to 72 years and nine months in prison and fines of up to $180,000 if convicted.
