GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Green Bay Metro Fire Department confirmed there was a fire at Aldo Leopold Community School on Tuesday morning.

  • The fire department said it was dispatched to the school at 3:04 a.m. 

  • Upon entry, firefighters said they found a fire near the art area on the first floor of the school. Crews were able to get the fire under control within 30 minutes from the time they arrived to the scene

  • The cause of the fire is being investigated

  • No one was killed or injured 

The fire department said it was dispatched to the school at 3:04 a.m. The fire department said a fire alarm had been activated, and when first responders were en route, they received reports of smoke coming from the south end of the building.

When they arrived on scene, first responders said there was heavy smoke coming from the first floor of the building, on the south side. However, no flames were visible from outside the school.

Upon entry, firefighters said they found a fire near the art area on the first floor of the school. Crews were able to get the fire under control within 30 minutes from the time they arrived to the scene.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.

Losses have yet to be determined.

Aldo Leopold Community School is a 4K-8 school in the Green Bay Area School District at 622 Eliza St. in Green Bay, Wis. The school will be closed for students and teaching staff on Tuesday.

 

The fire department said no deaths or injuries resulted from the fire.
