UW-La Crosse Political Science Professor Anthony Chergosky said the number of undecided voters remaining in a pivotal swing state like Wisconsin are few.
That small number of voters could decide which candidate wins the Badger State's 10 electoral votes and that outcome could ultimately determine who sits in the White House.
Chergosky said it's possible the guilty verdict in former President Donald Trump's criminal trial could be a deciding factor among independent voters. He said the verdict has certainly energized Republicans.
Chergosky also said the former president's sentencing on July 11 will have major implications on this summer's Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.
Trump is set to be sentenced four days before the convention begins, which Chergosky noted is an unprecedented scenario in American politics.
