GREEN BAY, Wis. — Amid contract negotiations, some are speculating that Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love could get $50 million per year.

Yet, Love showed up for offseason work with his teammates and didn’t have much to say about the state of his contract.

“I’ve always been that way,” said Love. “I don’t know what’s going on with the contract, so I really can’t talk about that much.”

But head coach Matt LaFleur and Love’s teammates had plenty to say about the blossoming star.

“I just see the confidence and the way he carries himself,” said LaFleur. “I know his teammates respect the hell out of him.”

“He was always confident and poised. This year he has taken it to another level,” said receiver Christian Watson. “He’s leading this team.”

“It’s amazing to see,” said receiver Romeo Doubs. “We’ve got to appreciate every day and not take it for granted.”

Love said he’s focused on being a better leader and has already noticed the strides his young receivers have made.

“It’s night and day,” said Love. “Last year, some were still learning the offense. Now, they know where they’re supposed to be.”

LaFleur said he was delighted with the team’s near perfect attendance for the “voluntary” organized team activities (OTA) and confirmed that the Packers will hold two joint practices during preseason in August. The Packers will practice with the Broncos in Denver and with the Ravens in Green Bay.
