RIPON, Wis. — Students pursuing associate degrees at Moraine Park Technical College will be able to transfer to Ripon College to continue their education, the colleges announced Wednesday.
After Moraine Park students earn either an associate of arts or an associate of science liberal arts degree, they can transfer a minimum of 60 credits to Ripon College, where they will automatically have junior standing. Credits that counted toward the associate degree will transfer and any additional credits will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
The two colleges said they will work together to support students in regards to advising and transferring credits.
“Our goal is to provide an education that works best for the students we serve,” said Doug Hamm, vice president of teaching and learning at Moraine Park. “This agreement with Ripon College provides a wonderful opportunity for Moraine Park students to articulate to a premier institution of higher education in our district. We look forward to more collaboration with Ripon College moving forward.”
Moraine Park said it already has similar agreements with the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, UW-Green Bay, UW-Milwaukee and Lakeland University.
“Ripon collaborated with Moraine Park on this agreement in order to help address the educational needs of the region,” said John Sisko, vice president and dean of faculty at Ripon College. “Moraine Park students, with the Associates of Art or Associates of Science degree, now will have a smooth transition to the pursuit of bachelor’s degrees at Ripon College. This agreement is one step in a larger plan to make Ripon College a more transfer-friendly institution.”
