MADISON, Wis. — Meagan Wolfe, the administrator of the Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC), received the 2024 National Public Service Award from the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) on April 14.
The award recognizes “outstanding contributions to public service,” and was established by ASPA and the National Academy of Public Administration in 1983.
“Leadership can be a struggle even during the best of times,” WEC chairman Don Millis said. “But in these challenging times, when electoral myths are widely accepted and invectives often drown out civil debate, Meagan has shown tremendous leadership, calmly working with the Commission staff, clerks and the commissioners to ensure that Wisconsin elections are secure and trusted.”
Millis is a Republican appointee to the WEC.
Wolfe was one of four national award recipients this year.
Wolfe was presented the award at ASPA’s annual conference in Minneapolis.
Wolfe received another national award in March of this year. The Election Verification Network (EVN) honored her with its Public Service Award. There was a ceremony in Washington, D.C. Wolfe attended the ceremony virtually.
EVN recognizes people who “protect and promote election integrity and verifiable elections” each year.
“Wisconsin’s election system is stronger because of Administrator Wolfe,” Ann Jacobs, former WEC chairwoman, said. “As her recent recognition shows, Meagan is one of the nation’s most respected election administrators. She has demonstrated expertise, skillful leadership, and selfless service to Wisconsin’s voters, all while navigating evolving challenges to the election landscape.”
Jacobs is a Democratic appointee to the WEC.
