WISCONSIN — Saturday, April 27 is Drug Take Back Day in Wisconsin.
Wisconsinites are encouraged to dispose of unwanted or unused medications at collection sites across the state on the day. Over 130 take back events are planned across the state for Saturday.
The day is meant to give people a safe way to dispose of their unwanted and unused medications and also educate the community on the potential abuse or consequences of improper storage, which can lead to addiction.
Wisconsin Department of Health Services said that unused prescription should never be flushed or poured down the drain because it can cause contamination in rivers and lakes.
If you have a medication you no longer need, want or can use, you can bring it to a drop box site, no questions asked.
