SAUKVILLE, Wis. — More people are looking for unique life experiences. Proof of that is in the growth of “adventure tourism.”

According to Allied Market Research, the global adventure tourism market is expected to be valued at $2 trillion by 2032. That’s a nearly 20% increase from what it is now.

This is one of the many reasons why Andy Siefkes took a leap of faith to focus on his business, Get Busy Liv’n.

Siefkes has always had a passion for outdoor adventures and traveling. However, he mainly kept them as hobbies or a side hustle, as he rose the ranks in his career path of information technology (IT).

This past January, he decided to leave his job in IT to work full time building Get Busy Liv’n.

“As you progress through life, it’s not about accumulating wealth. It’s about accumulating ‘being rich,’ which is being fulfilled, and that’s all I need to keep me going,” said Siefkes.

According to the group Women Traveling Together, adult women are an under-appreciated base of active travel.

Seifkes’ team at Get Busy Liv’n has led numerous trips for women across the world and closer to home in Wisconsin.

Erin Stewart works as an adventure guide for Get Busy Liv’n and just led a group of women on a hike to the base of the Grand Canyon. She said it’s super rewarding to watch women unplug from technology and find deeper connections with each other.

“Watching women when they realize how big of an accomplishment that they just did, that light that just lights up their face, and how proud they are of themselves,” Stewart described.

This year, Siefkes said he plans to expand to men-only and co-ed trips as well. Another big part of his mission is to give back. Get Busy Liv’n donates 5% of anything purchased through their organization to nonprofit organizations.

“Life’s all about creating memories and establishing memories,” Siefkes said.
