MILWAUKEE — A new Marquette Law School Poll found that in a presidential matchup between President Joe Biden and former president Donald Trump, registered Wisconsin voters were split, with 49% of survey respondents supporting Biden and 49% supporting Trump.
When narrowed to a group of likely voters, 50% of respondents supported Trump and 49% supported Biden.
Among registered voters, 12% were undecided.
Among likely voters, 10% were undecided.
For the survey, initially undecided voters were then asked to choose a candidate.
When asked to choose between Biden and GOP candidate Nikki Haley, Haley came out on top — 57% of respondents said they would support Haley, while 41% expressed support for Biden.
When narrowed to a group of likely voters, 57% of respondents supported Haley and 42% supported Biden.
The survey ran from Jan. 24 to 31 and holds a margin of error of +/- 4.2 percentage points. A total of 930 registered Wisconsin voters were interviewed as part of the survey.
