MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee Brewers announced Tuesday that American Family Field will use a new state-of-the-art parking system with license plate recognition. This technology hopes to provide easier parking for fans and will debut at the 2024 home opener.

What You Need To Know

  • The Milwaukee Brewers will use a new state-of-the-art parking system with license plate recognition at American Family Fields

  • The Brewers will partner with locally owned and operated Interstate Parking Company to implement the technology

  • The Brewers are first MLB team to implement this technology

  • Fans can pre-pay online and activate parking spot by typing in license plate number

The Brewers are the first MLB team to use this type of technology and will partner with locally owned and operated Interstate Parking Company to implement the technology.

Fans will be able to pre-pay for their tickets online. The ticket will be digitally delivered through the MLB Ballpark App, and fans can activate their ticket by typing in their license plate number on the app.

Fans will enter American Family Field parking lots like normal, but there will no longer be cashiers to take payments or passes. There will be parking attendants on site to help those who need it. The technology will hopefully ease heavy traffic during peak entry times.

“We are always considering how to improve the fan experience, and entry into American Family Field’s parking lots is a topic fans often raise,” said Brewers President–Business Operations Rick Schlesinger. “The ease of the new parking system will eliminate the need to stop and pay a cashier, which slowed ingress into the parking lots.”

Fans can also purchase day-off parking passes by scanning a QR code posted on signs in the parking lot. Fans must activate parking before entering the ballpark to avoid a parking violation.

All entries remain the same with one additional entrance for Season Seat Holders and Suiteholders who have Gold parking, which can be accessed by entering from Brewers Blvd.

Parking lot times have not changed and typically open three hours before the first pitch. For Monday–Thursday games that start at 6:15 p.m. or 6:40 p.m., parking lots open two and a half hours before the first pitch.

The new technology will not affect tailgating. For more information, visit the tailgating website.
