“Our teams are dedicated to making care easy and accessible, helping our patients achieve better health for life,” said Dr. Imran A. Andrabi, president of Froedtert ThedaCare Health. “We are inspired by the enhancements and expanded care options that will be offered through this investment in our legacy hospital. The updates will advance coordinated care throughout the ThedaCare service area, including critical access hospitals, giving patients greater access to innovative and specialized care.”

The changes to the medical center included an expanded emergency department that has doubled the care space with 20 exam rooms. There’s also specialized rooms for trauma and behavioral health in the emergency department. The updates to the space include new technology and equipment.

There is now an additional helipad for ThedaStar Air Medical Program. The helipad is adjacent to the emergency department, which means patients can be transferred to the emergency department faster than before.

Operating rooms now include “advanced robotic surgical equipment, creating four dedicated robotics suites to support better outcomes for patients, and developing an outstanding teaching environment as leaders in robotics surgery.”

The updates also include a graduate medical education program. The program aims to “ prepare physicians to care for tomorrow’s health needs and challenges by creating advanced training opportunities for individuals who have completed medical school, including residencies, fellowships, internships and other specialty programs.”

With the updates, ThedaCare said the medical center is introducing an obstetrical emergency department and hospitalist program. The Theda Clark Peters Family Birth Center also received updates in an attempt to make the area more “modern, comfortable and soothing.”

The new Women’s Center — which includes mammography, diagnostics, imaging and bone density testing — is housed in a "comfortable” space as well.

ThedaCare said the Trauma Center has also been redesigned. Its comprehensive stroke center — the only one in the region — has been enhanced, too.

Additionally, key diagnostic outpatient services and a retail pharmacy are now on the first floor of the hospital in an effort to ensure easy access for patients. The main floor is also home to a new dining area.

“Patients and families were our priority when we planned the design and construction phases of the project, allowing our community members to continue accessing critical services with ease,” said Lynn Detterman, senior vice president of ThedaCare South Region. “Our teams want to ensure each person feels safe and empowered as they begin their journey to healing at ThedaCare. This Modernization Project reflects and supports our mission to improve health and well-being of the communities we serve.”
