GREEN BAY, Wis. — Sunday’s 17-9 victory by the Packers over the Bears at Lambeau Field clinched a playoff berth for Green Bay.
Jordan Love was outstanding. He completed over 84% of his passes. Aaron Jones was a difference maker, running behind holes created by an underappreciated offensive line against a stout Bears run defense.
Dontayvion Wicks was just one of the Packers’ young receivers to shine, catching a pair of touchdown passes. And the Packers defense kept Bears quarterback Justin Fields uncomfortable, sacking him five times and pressuring him consistently.
When the season started, the Packers avoided using the word “rebuild”. Yet, with Aaron Rodgers and several veterans gone, not many expected the Packers to be in the playoffs.
Well, here they are.
Now it’s on to Texas to take on former Packers Coach Mike McCarthy and the Cowboys in the wild card round of the playoffs next weekend. The Cowboys didn’t lose at home all season long. So, all the pressure will be on Dallas. They are expected to win. They have to. The young Packers can play loose and free.
