MILWAUKEE — Four suspects are at large after a hit-and-run near the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UW-Milwaukee) campus.
The UW-Milwaukee Police Department said around 11:15 a.m., it was notified about a vehicle theft at the Cunningham Hall surface parking lot. UW-Milwaukee officers located the suspects in a different stolen vehicle, but when the officers tried to stop them, the suspects fled and struck a bicyclist on Oakland Avenue.
One of officers stopped to help the cyclist who had minor injuries. The suspects left the scene of the accident and, after doing so, struck another motorist near North Cramer Street and East Linnwood Avenue. That motorist was not injured.
Following the two crashes, the car the suspects were driving crashed into two parked vehicles. Police said all three vehicles then caught fire.
Amid the crash, four suspects fled on foot, according to police.
Police said they do not have anyone in custody and the investigation is ongoing. It’s being led by the UW-Milwaukee Police Department.
