WISCONSIN — Kyle Rittenhouse, who shot three people during protests in Kenosha in 2020 and was later acquitted, is promoting a new book.

His book, “Acquitted,” is available for pre-order now and will start shipping on Dec. 15.

Rittenhouse said he wanted to tell his side of his story, without influence for others, so people could know his “truth.”

“I never wanted to be a public figure. I was homeless as a small child and raised in government-subsidized housing. My goal was to be a cop or a paramedic. I went to Kenosha to help my community — not become a whipping boy in the national debate. In less than three minutes, the direction of my life was horribly altered when I was forced to defend myself with deadly force. So much was said and written about me that was not true. Now, for the first time, I want to tell my story,” he wrote on the book’s website. “My name is Kyle Rittenhouse. I was attacked. I defended myself. I was prosecuted. I was acquitted.”

On Amazon, Rittenhouse is listed as a co-author of the 241 page book alongside Mark Richards and Michael Quinn Sullivan. At the time of publishing of this article, the book ranked 10,018 on Kindle’s Best Sellers ranking and 557 in its Nonfiction rankings.
