MADISON, Wis. — Assembly Speaker Robin Vos has moved forward with articles of impeachment against Wisconsin’s top election official.

It comes amid a report that a more than $100,000 print and TV ad campaign is calling for Vos’ removal if he doesn’t move to impeach Wisconsin Elections Commision Administrator Meagan Wolfe, according to Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Last week, a Dane County judge temporarily blocked GOP lawmakers from ousting Wolfe, saying they needed to wait out a lawsuit.

The impeachment articles filed by Vos Thursday against Wolfe were introduced by a group of Republicans in the Assembly in September.

Wolfe was the target of conspiracy theorists, who have falsely claimed she was part of a plot that rigged the 2020 election in favor of President Joe Biden.
