WISCONSIN — All aboard: The Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) Holiday Train returns this year for its 25th anniversary, with several stops across Wisconsin.
It will make 13 stops in Wisconsin later this year, including in Sturtevant, Caledonia, Wauwatosa, Hartland, Oconomowoc, Watertown, Columbus, Portage, Wisconsin Dells, Mauston, Tomah, Sparta and La Crosse.
Along the route, the 2023 CPKC Holiday Train will raise money, food and awareness for local community food backs. CPKC works with local food banks and food pantry groups that organize the collection of all donations at each stop.
The seasonal train tours Nov. 20 through Dec. 19, with its Wisconsin stops being set for Dec. 3-5.
“The Holiday Train program is close to the hearts of our CPKC family. Our railroaders take great joy in joining communities across our network as they come together in the giving spirit of the holidays,” CPKC President and CEO Keith Creel said. “We are proud to support local food banks as we fight food insecurity by collecting food and raising money and awareness. I am grateful to all the railroaders and community members who have supported the Holiday Train over the past quarter century and made it such a success.”
Live music is a major part of the event each year. This year, Tenille Townes and Breland will perform at the Wisconsin stops.
All shows are free to attend, though CPKC encourages food or monetary donations. Representatives will be on site taking collections.
Since its inception, the CPKC Holiday Train has raised more than $22.5 million and more than 5 million pounds of food for community food banks across North America.
