GREEN BAY, Wis. — I’m a sucker for Hall of Fame ceremonies. I enjoy seeing greatness honored. Thursday night’s Packers Hall of Fame ceremony at Lambeau Field saw Jordy Nelson and Josh Sitton welcomed into the Hall.

Both players helped the Packers win Super Bowl 45 over the Steelers in Texas.

Can it really be 13 seasons ago?

Nelson was a fan favorite and a terrific receiver. He fought through injuries and always put the team first.

I’ve interviewed many Packers through the years. Josh Sitton ranks among my favorites. The offensive lineman was always brutally honest and a straight shooter. Win or lose, he would give you an unvarnished opinion.

Nelson and Sitton let the tears flow, especially when saluting their wives. Why not? Videos from Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers were heartfelt and classy.

It was the kind of night that makes you appreciate everything the Packers and their fans stand for. Not perfect, but unique and special.
