WISCONSIN — At a time when many bars are solely gearing up for Green Bay Packers games, some have other ideas.
Jack’s American Pub, a Milwaukee sports bar, said they’ll be keeping eyes on the former Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in New York. The bar announced when the New York Jets lose a game, they’ll pay your tab.
All fans have to do is open a tab 15 minutes before kick-off and watch the entire game on the bar’s 200-inch TVs.
However, there are a few hitches. The bar said Rodgers must be starting in the game and customers must be there for the entire game. Also, if the team does lose, food or top shelf liquor is not included in the deal.
It’s a deal that will run the whole football season — except when the Jets play at the same time as the Packers.
The fun doesn’t stop in Milwaukee.
Jack’s is not the only place fans can score a deal off of Jets games. At the bar’s sister location at Wanaki Golf Course in Menomonee Falls, there will be a Jets prime time drink special. Here, all customers will get a free drink every time Rodgers fumbles the ball for a turn-over or throws an interception. This will happen for the following games: Sept. 11, Oct. 1, Nov. 6, Nov 12, Nov. 24 and Dec. 28.
Despite the minor focus on the Jets, green and gold will still be the major focus across both establishments.
Throughout the 2023 season, both locations will offer round-trip all-you-can-drink VIP coach bus rides for every Packers home game. The ride includes access to an all-you-can-eat-and-drink tailgate party before kick-off.
Giveaways will also be plentiful. Jack’s announced they’ll give away of pair of Packers tickets and Wanaki will give away a recliner at the end of each Packers game.
The bars said their main goal is to “give fans of all sorts a place to cheer on Packers alums and also celebrate a new era of green and gold players.”
The Jets acquired Rodgers from the Packers in April of this year, just days before the 2023 NFL Draft. He is one of many former Packers players on the team this year. Former Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard, receiver Randall Cobb, and safety Adrian Amos all joined the Jets this year.
