GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Green Bay Packers wrap up the preseason at noon on Saturday against the Seattle Seahawks at Lambeau Field.
Here are three things to watch in the game.
To play or not to play?
The Packers have approached this preseason differently than in recent years for a couple of reasons. It’s a much younger team, led by Jordan Love at quarterback. Also, Matt LaFleur is hoping his team can start the regular season faster after losing their openers the last two years.
Last chance
This is the last chance for players to make a positive impression as they jockey for roster spots. All NFL teams have to cut down from 90 to 53 players by next Tuesday. This will be the last competitive football game for a lot of players around the league.
Ageless coach
Pete Carroll is in his 14th season as Seattle’s head coach. During that time, the Seahawks have made 10 playoff appearances. They made back-to-back Super Bowl appearances and won one of them. You don’t think of it this way because of his high energy style, but Pete Carroll is 71 years old. That’s the same age as New England’s Bill Belichick, who replaced him as Patriots head coach.
DePere native John Schneider — who worked for 13 years in the Packers front office — is the general manager of the Seahawks.
