This year, the NBA is introducing an in-season tournament, consisting of knockout round games and group play.

The Bucks start group play on Nov. 3, against the New York Knicks at home. Also part of group play, the Bucks will also take on the Washington Wizards on Nov. 24 at home. The Bucks will face off against the Charlotte Hornets on Nov. 17 on the road and travel to Miami to round out group play against the Heat on Nov. 28.

Knockout rounds of the inaugural tournament are scheduled from Dec. 4 though 9. Eight teams will advance to the quarterfinals. All other teams will play two regular season games on Dec. 6 and 8. All in-season tournament games — other than the Las Vegas-based championship — count toward the regular season.

The Bucks will play a total of 82 games this season; there are currently 40 scheduled home games and 40 road games. Seventeen of those are weekend (Friday, Saturday or Sunday) home games at Fiserv Forum.

The Bucks have a Christmas Day road matchup against the Knicks at noon local time. This is the sixth year in a row the team will play on Christmas. Milwaukee will also take on the Indiana Pacers on New Year’s Day.
