GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Green Bay Packers play their second preseason game Saturday night at Lambeau Field against the New England Patriots.

The teams should know each other well after practicing together on Wednesday and Thursday.

They met in the regular season last year at Lambeau, with the Packers winning in overtime.

This is the Patriots’ first preseason trip to Green Bay since 2005.

Run to daylight

Packers running back Emanuel Wilson rushed for two touchdowns in Cincinnati, one an 80-yarder. Flashing in one game means something. Standing out again is even more important. Special teams are one way he can earn a roster spot.

Rookie kicker in spotlight

The Packers are hoping for a better game from rookie kicker Anders Carlson. He missed two extra points in Cincinnati. When he misses, it’s been wide right. The Packers have said they will be patient with Carlson. Home fans will probably be a part of the equation as well if Carlson struggles.

Mr. Bill

Patriots coach Bill Belichick is in his 24th season as New England’s head coach. This will be his 49th year in the NFL. He has 329 total victories, second in history only to Don Shula’s 347. With Belichick as coach, the Patriots have won six Super Bowls, nine conference titles, 17 division crowns and they have 30 playoff victories.

The Packers will wrap up the preseason a week from Saturday with a noon game at Lambeau Field against the Seattle Seahawks.
