MILWAUKEE — The Hop will have extended service over the upcoming busy festival weekend in Milwaukee, officials announced Tuesday.
With Bastille Days and the Harley-Davidson Homecoming Festival, service will extend later in to the evening on Friday and Saturday. Additional vehicles will also be put into the rotation for Saturday to increase the frequency of service.
Officials said they’ll briefly interrupt service on Thursday night starting at 9 p.m. ahead of the Storm the Bastille run. They expect to be up and running at around 10:30 p.m. or whenever the route is cleared. Routes that evening will run until midnight for crowds leaving the festival.
Officials did say the motorcycle parade for the Harley-Davidson event will not impact operations.
Here’s a breakdown of the Hop schedule this weekend.
- Thursday, July 13: 5 a.m.-midnight, with brief pause around 9 p.m. for Storm the Bastille.
- Friday, July 14: 5 a.m.-1 a.m.
- Saturday, July 15: 7 a.m.-1 a.m., with another car in service from 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
- Sunday, July 16: 7 a.m.-10 p.m.
The Hop has a stop right at Cathedral Square for Bastille Days festivalgoers. Burns Commons is the closest stop to Veterans Park for the Harley-Davidson Homecoming Festival.
