The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers display future Brewers stars at the Class A level. One current Timber Rattlers pitcher in particular is drawing attention.

The way Jacob Misiorowski pitches, you wonder how long he’ll be with the Timber Rattlers. He is a rising star in the Brewers’ system.

After making two starts on the road, Misiorowski made his first home start for the Timber Rattlers Tuesday night.

He helped draw about 4,800 fans and did not disappoint. Over four and two-third shutout innings, he struck out five.

“It was awesome,” said Misiorowski. “There was a lot more people than I thought there was gonna be, and it was exciting.”

“Everything was working, I mean other than the one changeup I chunked about 50 feet. The slider was working, curveball was working good, and the fastball is always the ... it all felt good. I wanted to go one more out and was trying to fight him on that one, so the competitor in me was trying to get one more. But it felt good and I handed it over to the bullpen.”

Misiorowski pitched high school baseball in Missouri. The Brewers took him with the 63rd overall pick in the 2022 draft. The 21-year-old righthander is considered the Brewers' top pitching prospect.

He was recently named the Brewers Minor League Pitcher of the Month and was promoted from Carolina to Wisconsin.

“Definitely one of the busiest months of my career, so far,” said Misiorowski. “A week in Carolina and then two weeks here. It’s been fun, a little stressful, but you deal with it and keep playing.”

Misiorowski is a hard thrower. The combination of velocity and extension makes him tough for a hitter.

“I just think it’s mostly my height, and being able to be flexible in the hips and really reach out,” said Misiorowski. “I throw 100 (miles per hour), so anything, it’s going to jump on guys. I think it’s one of those things that it just kind of gets on them because it’s 100 and I’m extending so far.”

Brewers Vice President of Player Operations and Baseball Administration, Tom Flanagan, told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that Misiorowski has been dominant and is ready for the next step.
